The Artimus Pyle Band
Honoring the Music of Ronnie Van Zant’s Lynyrd Skynyrd

The Artimus Pyle Band – led by original drummer and plane crash survivor, Artimus Pyle – is set to honor the music of Ronnie Van Zant’s Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts in Downtown Pontiac. One-night only. Tickets on sale Friday, May 19 at 10 a.m.

Saturday Oct 21, 2017 marks the weekend of the 40th anniversary of the plane crash. It is a wonder to think of the heights Skynyrd could’ve reached had that tragic event not taken place. However, Artimus Pyle has made it his mission to keep the music alive. The Artimus Pyle Band will play two sets of all Lynyrd Skynyrd music, including hits such as “Tuesday’s Gone,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Gimme Three Steps,” “Simple Man,” “Free Bird,” “Don’t Ask Me No Questions,” “Whiskey Rock-A-Roller,” and many more to honor his friend and Lynyrd Skynyrd founder, Ronnie Van Zant. In between sets, Pyle will chat with the audience will about the plane crash, and life after the crash for Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Pyle formed The Artimus Pyle Band, which has taken the country by storm, providing fans with the most authentic tribute to Ronnie Van Zant’s Lynyrd Skynyrd. Artimus represents an important part of the incredible roller coaster history of America’s greatest band, playing drums during their pinnacle years of 1974-1977 and then again for the tribute tour of 1991.
